Got delayed on this blog after reading about our U.S. Rep James Oberstar in the newspaper. He wants to add a mileage tax to our burden. I think we already pay a mileage tax based on the gasoline tax we already pay. But the really frightening idea he proposed was to install GPS devices on our vehicles so Big Brother could track our mileage on Interstate or other roads. It is not too big of a leap to use that info to determine if we were speeding or not, rolled through a stop sign and keep track of our travel and when and where. Is anybody else getting scared now? 1984 was 25 years ago and yet Big Brother lives on in the form of our Congreeman Oberstar.
